10 Must Have Skills for Christians in the Workplace

Resolution 1 – Knowledge/Wisdom

1. Daniel excelled because he possessed knowledge and an excellent spirit. Daniel 1:17

2. Solomon excelled as a great leader because he possessed great wisdom. 2 Chronicles 1:10-12

3. My people lack for lack of knowledge. Without knowledge, you will lack. Hosea 4:6

Resolution 2 – Creative Thinking/Problem Solving

1. Esther had to come up with a creative solution to save the Jews. Esther 7: 1 -10

2. Daniel was promoted because he was a problem solver. Daniel 15: 12 & 16

3. Problems are opportunities for fame and greatness. David’s status changed from a mere shepherd boy to chief of army staff and eventually to the king in Israel

Resolution 3 – Strategic Thinking/Insight/Planning

1. “A simple man believes anything, but a prudent man gives thought to his steps.” Proverbs 14:15

2. David needed men who could think and plan strategically, and God gave him the men of Issachar. 1 Chron.12:32

3. God gave Joshua a little lesson on strategic thinking to defeat Jericho. Joshua 6

Resolution 4 – Faithful Service/Selflessness

1. David presence was refreshing before the King. He promoted him. 1 Samuel 16:21

2. No Eye Service. What you can’t tell your leader or boss, don’t say it behind them. Work with sincerity of purpose and serve faithfully. Col 3:22-24

3. Elisha was “like a fool to Elijah” he got double the anointing Elijah had. 2 Kings 2:1-14

Resolution 5 – Diligence/Industrious/Detailed

1. Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Proverb 22:29

2. Jeroboam was a valiant warrior and when Solomon saw that the young man was industrious, he was promoted. 1 Kings 11:28

3. Rapid Promotion. Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh. Genesis 41:46

Resolution 6 – Loyalty/Consistency/Faithfulness

1. Loyalty leads to Promotion. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Matthew 24:45

2. David showed loyalty to Saul (in spite of how Saul treated him) respecting Saul’s position as God’s chosen king. I Samuel 26:9

3. Ruth, a foreign widow, ancestry of King David; her loyalty to Naomi rewarded by marriage to rich eligible bachelor Boaz. Ruth 4

Resolution 7 – Global Outlook/ Vision Champion

1. Jesus – “Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross.” Hebrews 12:2

2. Secret of the early Church. Believe in the Corporate Vision; Invested time, talent, energy& resources to achieve set objectives. Act 2: 42- 47

3. Abraham was a man driven by Vision. Gen 17:5

Resolution 8 – Teamwork/Relationship/Unity

1. Teamwork and unity led to rapid growth in the early church. Act 2: 42- 47

2. Ezra also worked with the best. Ezra 7:28

3. Behold, the people [is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Genesis 11:6

Resolution 9 – Skills/Abilities/Gifts/Talent 1. “The Lord said to Moses, “ See I have chosen Bezabel ……I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts….. to engage in all kinds of craftsmanship.” Exodus: 31:1-5

2. Your talent is for a purpose. Parable of the Talent. Matthew 25: 14 – 30

3. As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1 Peter 4:10

Resolution 10 – Focus on the Goal  1. A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways. James 1:8

2. What are you aiming at? Where there is no vision the people perish. Proverbs 29:18

3. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
